COLUMBIA, S.C. (ABP) – The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina and Baptist studies program at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary are sponsoring four sessions over two days with Brian McLaren, a popular author and leader in the “emergent” church.
McLaren, whose books include Naked Spirituality and A New Kind of Christianity, is guest speaker for an inaugural Fall Symposium on Church and Culture, scheduled Oct. 6-7, in Columbia, S.C. Registration costs $50, discounted to $25 for current students and seniors.
McLaren will lead four sessions discussing “What does it mean to be a Christian in the 21st century?” Registration is required to attend the entire conference, due to space restrictions, but a 6:30 p.m., Oct. 6 session at St. Andrews Baptist Church is free and open to the public.
Detailed schedule and registration information are available on the CBF of South Carolina website.
