RICHMOND, Va. — Suggestions to fill positions on the Baptist General Association of Virginia’s standing committees and on governing boards of some affiliated organizations are being sought by the BGAV’s committee on boards and committees.
The committee is seeking names of people who are “Christ followers; ethnically, racially and generationally diverse; passionate about advancing the Kingdom together; and able to handle the responsibilities as assigned,” said committee chair Emily Carlton of Alexandria, Va.
“With the participation of more than 400,000 members in over 1,400 churches, the Baptist General Association of Virginia is a diverse group, energized by a common passion to advance our Redeemer’s Kingdom,” said Carlton, a member of Downtown Baptist Church in Alexandria. “As a body, we have learned that we can do more together than we can alone. For this reason we partner together, through the shared ministries of more than 25 agencies, institutions and committees to help carry out the work of Virginia Baptists.”
Carlton said suggestions can be made on a form downloadable from the BGAV’s web site. The deadline is April 1.
The committee’s recommendations will be considered at the BGAV’s annual meeting, Nov. 12-13 in Fredericksburg, Va.
