STAFF CHANGES

Charles Allard, to Crabtree Valley Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., as pastor.

Christopher Blythe, to Covington (Va.) Baptist Church, as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Falls Baptist Church, Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Abbi L. Davis, to The Memorial Baptist Church, Greenville, N.C., as associate pastor. Most recently she served at Campbell University, Buies Creek, N.C., as community engagement coordinator.

J. Daniel Day, to Broadway Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas, as interim pastor, effective July 3.

Daniel Elliott, to First Baptist Church, Clinton, N.C., as minister to students and families.

Joe and Tina Fillmer, to Mill Creek Baptist Church, Monroe, N.C., as worship leader and accompanist, respectively.

Amy Herring, to Hope Valley Baptist Church, Durham, N.C., as minister to children and families.

Julie Merritt Lee, concluding her tenure as pastor of Providence Baptist Church, Hendersonville, N.C., effective May 15.

Mickey Lenamon, now serving as executive director of Texas Baptist Men. He has served as interim executive director since the retirement of Don Gibson on Dec. 31. He joined the organization’s staff as director of resource development in 2006 and was named associate executive director in 2008.

Thomas R. McCann, to Viewmont Baptist Church, Hickory, N.C., as transition facilitator.

Mattea Pavlick, resigning as minister to children and families at Brookwood Baptist Church, Birmingham, Ala.

Lawrence Powers, resigning as minister to college students at Oakmont Baptist Church, Greenville, N.C. effective June 12.

Jon E. Singletary, to Baylor University’s Diana R. Garland School of Social Work, as dean, effective June 1. He has been serving as interim dean since June 2015.

Ed Stetzer, to the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism at Wheaton College near Chicago, as exsecutive director, effective July 1. For the past nine years he has served as executive director of LifeWay Research in Nashville, Tenn.

Matt Vandagriff, to Kirkwood (Mo.) Baptist Church, as pastor, effective in mid-June. He comes from the pastorate of Willow Meadows Baptist Church, Houston, Texas.

Jim Wall, to First Baptist Church, Liberty, N.C., as interim pastor. 

RETIREMENT

Judy G. Allbee, retiring as executive minister of the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut, effective Sept. 30. She has served as executive minister since January 2005.

Bill Webb, retiring after more than 20 years as editor of the Missouri Baptist publication, Word & Way. 

ORDINATIONS

Dorcus Carter, ordained to ministry by the Church at Ponce and Highland, Atlanta, on May 15.

Caitlin Walsh Jackson, ordained to ministry by Second Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., on May 15.

Holly Johnson, ordained to ministry on May 15 by the Church at Ponce and Highland, Atlanta.

Megan Joyner, ordained to ministry by Pullen Memorial Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., on May 15.

Molly Shoulta, ordained to ministry by Millbrook Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., on May 15. 

DEATH

Bill Bolick, 93, died May 8 in Cedar Park, Texas. He served as associate pastor of First Baptist Church, Jefferson City, Mo. He was pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, St. Louis, Mo.; Mt. Washington Baptist Church, Independence, Mo.; and for 21 years was pastor of First Baptist Church, Laredo, Texas. He had served on the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. In retirement he was founding pastor of The Worship Place in Sun City, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; three sons, David, Jonathan and Dwight; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
