STAFF CHANGES

Robert Adkins, to Stratford (Conn.) Baptist Church, as pastor.

Steve Carswell, resigning as minister of education at North Stuart Baptist Church, Stuart, Fla.,to join E3, a missions and church planting organization.

Justin Cox, to First Baptist Church, Statesville, N.C., as minister to students.

Herb Dominguez, to First Baptist Church, Lamar, Colo., as interim pastor.

John Doty, to Atwater (Calif.) Baptist Church, as interim pastor.

Corey Fields, to Calvary Baptist Church, Newark, Del., as pastor. He comes from First Baptist Church, Topeka, Kan., where he was associate pastor.

Lisabeth Gustafson, to First Baptist Church, Winstead, Conn., as pastor.

Winford L. Hendrix, to Central Baptist Church, Newnan, Ga., as transition pastor.

Tim Irving, to Wytheville (Va.) Baptist Church, as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Tabernacle Baptist Church, South Hill, Va.

Jonathan R. Kelley, to First Baptist Church, El Dorado, Ark. He comes from Calvary Baptist Church, Little Rock, Ark., where he served as associate pastor.

Mario Martinez, to Parkview Baptist Church, Gainesville, Fla., as worship leader.

Dan McFaden, to Deep Run Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as minister of music.

Laura Ross, to First Baptist Church, Ashland, Va., as children’s pastor.

Ken Stalls, to Goochland (Va.) Baptist Church, as interim pastor. He recently retired as pastor of South End Baptist Church, Frederick, Md.

Ben Thomas, resigning as pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, Woodford, Va., effective June 30.

Robert Wallace, to First Baptist Church, Glendale, Calif., as interim pastor.

Alan Williams, now serving as U.S. disaster response director for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. He recently retired from a position with Savannah Communications and has also served as disaster response coordinator for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina. 

RETIREMENTS

Greg C. Earwood, retiring as president of the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky, Georgetown, Ky., effective in October. He is the seminary’s first and only president, serving in that role since 2001.

George Fletcher, retiring as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Winchester, Va. He retires from 38 years of ministry and 15 years as pastor of First Baptist.

Nancy Greene, retiring after 18 years as associational administrator and disaster relief coordinator for Blackwater Baptist Association, Windsor, Va. 

ORDINATIONS

Alexander Brack Ballard, ordained to ministry on May 29 by Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, Charlotte, N.C., where he serves as minister to students.

Kimberly Lindeman, ordained to ministry on May 29 by Triangle (Va.) Baptist Church, where she serves as associate pastor.

John Thompson, ordained to ministry on April 24 by Bethlehem Baptist Church, North Chesterfield, Va., where he serves as student minister.

 DEATH

William Jackson Bess, 74, died May 23 in Bremo Bluff, Va.  He was a Southern Baptist pastor for 39 years before retirement. After retirement he continued to serve as an interim pastor. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Janet; and son, Kenny.

Walter Satchell, 10 years as associate pastor of administration at First Baptist Church, Newport News, Va.

Larry Smith, 40 years as associate pastor of music and worship at West Hampton Baptist Church, Hampton, Va.
