STAFF CHANGES

Jonathan Balmer, to Second & James Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, as minister of youth.

Lacey B. Davis, to First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Va., as minister to families with children.

Corey Fields, to Calvary Baptist Church, Newark, Del., as pastor.

Christy Foldenauer, to Tomahawk Baptist Church, Midlothian, Va., as senior pastor, effective Nov. 20. She comes from Gayton Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., where she served as discipleship pastor.

Stephen Gusukuma, to Second & James Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, as minister of music.

Connie Hayden, to Church at The Crossings, Aledo, Texas, as preschool and children’s director.

Ken McKenzie, to The Federated Church of West Winfield, N.Y., as pastor.

Dan Reigle, to First Baptist Church, Johnsonburg, Pa., as pastor.

Christine B. Roush, to Cedar Hills Baptist Church, Beaverton, Oregon, as pastor.

Terrance Ruth, to Pullen Memorial Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., as youth ministry partner.

Aaron Weaver, now serving as communications director for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. For the past four years he was communications manager. 

RETIREMENT

John Shypulefski, retiring as pastor of First Baptist Church, Blossburg, Pa. 

DEATHS

Lloyd F. Jackson Jr., 81, died Oct. 20 in Richmond, Va. He had served as pastor of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Gaffney, S.C. and Franklinton (N.C.) Baptist Church. In 1968 he joined the staff of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board, where he served until his 1997 retirement. He developed and led two Virginia Baptist Royal Ambassador camps, Camp Piankatank and Camp Peaks of Otter. He was a leader in the creation and expansion of the Virginia Baptist Disaster Relief Ministry.  He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara. He is survived by three children, Frank and Tommy Jackson and Susan Cooke; and nine grandchildren.

John Wilkes, 83, died Oct. 2 in Fredericksburg, Va. He was communications director for the Baptist World Alliance from 1986-1988. Prior to that he was pastor of churches in Tennessee, Mississippi and Missouri. He also served as director of news and information for the European Baptist Federation. He is survived by his wife, Jo-Anne; son, John; and daughter, Katia.
