Virginia Baptists have launched a new certification in children's ministry, in response to the growing trend that church staff, especially children's ministers, come from within the congregation.
Eleven children's ministers/leaders from across Virginia already have committed to an intense program of certification that involves 32 hours of classroom time per semester, projects, tests and other requirements.
Completion of five courses is required to receive the certification in children's ministry. Part of the admission process includes a four-page essay on the individual's call to children's ministry.
For additional information about the certification in children's ministry, contact Diane Smith of the glocal missions and evangelism team at the Virginia Baptist Mission Board at (800) 255-2428, ext. 7261; at [email protected]; or at www.vbmb.org.
