I read you article about the Airlee Court Baptist Church in Roanoke. The heading sounded like they had drifted from their course and that Journey Church was trying to take over their buildings.
If I understand the situation correctly, Airlee Court had approached Journey Church about giving the church and building to them. Naturally when a church is thinking about closing the doors and giving their buildings over to another church there will be changes. I know the staff and know that the people of Airlee Court would have been welcomed to be a part of the worship and that there are also some compromises.
I may be mistaken, but this article sounds like Journey Church was trying to get the buildings from Airlee Court. The fact that the vote was taken on Sunday and you posted this article on Monday and that you only interview one person from Airlee tells of only part of the story. I hope that you will also interview Journey Church. They are a growing church, meeting in the movie theater and do need a place to meet other than there, but they are also seeking God's will for the right place.
Journey Church is also staying the course.
