How ironic that the recognition of baptismal rites that use less water would be considered “a watering down” of baptism and a church’s membership policy [“Opening up without watering down,” Herald, June 18].
It is also interesting to me that the Baptist churches I have known count “non-resident” members (many of whom are listed “address unknown”) as part of the total church membership.
Moreover, “resident” members who never attend or contribute also continue to be counted.
How can a church’s membership policy be “watered down” when it fails to “hold water?”
