Washington pastor Kendrick Curry has been named interim executive director/minister of the District of Columbia Baptist Convention.
Curry, senior pastor of Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church in the District, will provide leadership until a successor is chosen for Ricky Creech, who left the position April 24 to become president of a faith-based nonprofit in Kentucky which provides services to troubled youths.
Curry is a past president of the D.C. Baptist Convention. He also provides leadership in the Washington community, serving on the Mayor’s Interfaith Council and the Missionary Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Washington and Vicinity, and as a trustee of the University of the District of Columbia.
