RICHMOND — For the third consecutive year, Central Virginia Raceway Ministries is sponsoring Bring-A-Kid Race Night, an evening of fellowship with children, parents and youth groups around the sport of NASCAR. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 1.
“We are excited about offering a Christian message to the kids who love NASCAR,” said Derek Gordon, chairman of the Bring-A-Kid committee and youth pastor at New Highland Baptist Church in Mechanicsville. “It’s a great opportunity to have tons of fun while ministering to our youth.”
The event begins at 5:30 pm at the Richmond International Raceway’s Classic Amphitheater with a free program that includes a return of juggling storyteller Tim Elder, a praise band called Borrowed Time, prizes from C28 Christian stores and a special guest NASCAR speaker who will share his personal testimony. An optional dinner costing $7.50 will be served at 6:30 pm with the NASCAR Nationwide Race beginning at 7:30 pm.
Children and youth under 12 may attend the race free as part of a church group or individually with their parents. Tickets for adults and youth over 12 are $35. For more information, dinner reservations, tickets and to register, visit www.cvbm.org or contact Derek Gordon at (804) 550-9301 or [email protected]. The registration deadline is April 15.
