Robert comes to the Baptist News Global staff as editor in chief, with responsibilities for the total scope of the news function of the organization and as editor of the new magazine Herald. He began his work beginning January 2014, and his office is in Richmond, Va.Robert joins the staff as a result of the merger between ABPnews and the 185-year-old Religious Herald, news journal for Virginia Baptists. He served as managing editor of the Religious Herald for 27 years. Earlier experience included stints at the Christian Index in Atlanta and the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty in Washington.

A native Texan, Robert is a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Robert has two grown sons.
