‘War-like’ hymns are appropriate

To the editor:

I think your liberal position on “war-like” hymns being this initiator of hatred, is wrong [“Brian McLaren: It’s time to re-write pro-war hymns”]. Every Christian is fighting for their spiritual life. Hatred of the world is valid. Christ, the Bible tells us in Revelation, uses a sharp two edged sword to deal with spiritual dissipation. I respectfully submit that you check the mirror.

God bless you in your work, albeit too Jane Fonda-ish. Thank you for spreading the gospel.
