STAFF CHANGES

Jennifer Garcia Bashaw, to Campbell University, Buies Creek, N.C., as professor of New Testament and Christian ministry.

Cheryl Branham, concluding her tenure as director of music at Calvary Baptist Church, Washington, D.C., to relocate to another area.

Jody Breeding, to Vansant (Va.) Baptist Church, as interim pastor.

Tom Gaskins, to Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as interim pastor.

Kyle Knighton, to Day Spring Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, as minister of adult spiritual formation. He had been serving as youth minister.

Adam Stanley, to First Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, as associate pastor for youth. He comes from First Baptist Church, Crawford, Texas, where he was youth pastor.

ORDINATION

Robin Drake, ordained to ministry on Aug. 27 by Peace of Christ Church, Round Rock, Texas. 

DEATH

Gordon Arthur Gilbert, 98, died July 26 in Canandalgua, N.Y. He and his wife, Jean, were American Baptist missionaries in Hangzhou, China, but were evacuated in December 1948 on the eve of the Communist revolution. He served various churches, in particular, Middle Street Baptist Church in Portsmouth, N.H.; then Calvary Baptist Church, Rochester, N.Y. He is predeceased by his first wife, Jean. He is survived by his wife, Linda; six children, Suzanne Rayess, Gordon Arthur Jr., Glen Robert, Laura Lee, Stephen Munger and John Witmer; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
