Laura-Lee K. Jones, to Arbor Acres, Winston-Salem, N.C., as chaplain. Previously she was chaplain at Greenville (S.C.) Hospital Center.

Dean Majette, to Colonial Beach (Va.) Baptist Church, as interim pastor.

Steve Manuel, to First Baptist Church, Martinsville, Va., as interim pastor.

Blake Miller, concluding his tenure as minister to youth at River Oaks Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, to become a corporate chaplain.

Randy Rains, to Black Creek Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Va., as interim pastor.

Howard Rhodes, to Hopewell Baptist Church, Kew Kent, Va., as interim pastor.

Kristen White, to Antioch Baptist Church Red Oak, Va., as pastor. She comes from First Baptist Church, Gretna, Va., where she was associate pastor.

RETIREMENT

W. Shelton Miles III, retiring as pastor of First Baptist Church, Republican Grove, Va., where he has served for over 37 years.

ORDINATIONS

Brett Holmes, ordained to ministry on Feb. 25 by First Baptist Church, Richmond, Va.

Teresa Thornton, ordained to ministry on Feb. 25 by Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church, Memphis, Tenn.

DEATHS

Lawson E. Jolly Jr., 83, died Feb. 18 in Dade City, Fla. He was a Southern Baptist minister for 62 years and was pastor of churches in Texas, Georgia and Florida. He and his wife, Judith, served as missionaries to Costa Rica appointed by the Foreign (now International) Mission Board. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Rothschild; two sons, Lawson III and David; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
