STAFF CHANGES

Brad Armes, to Covington (Va.) Baptist Church, as interim pastor.

Chris Curran, to Southland Baptist Church, San Angelo, Texas, as pastor. He comes from Sugar Land (Texas) Baptist Church, where he was executive pastor/education and discipleship/missions.

Sean Dougherty, to now serving as pastor of First Baptist Church, Kearney, Neb.

Rachel Gregory, to Woodmont Baptist Church, Nashville, Tenn., as minister of preschool and children.

Jeromy Kusch, to First Baptist Church, Castroville, Texas, as student minister.

Robert Mullins, to Hollins Road Baptist Church Roanoke, Va., as children’s pastor.

Patrick Ryan, to Westbury Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, as minister to youth.

David Waldo, to First Baptist Church, Ballston Spa, N.Y., as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Greenfield Baptist Church, North East, Pa.

RETIREMENTS

Charles Ballard, retiring after 50 years in the ministry and 25 years as associate pastor of First Baptist Church, Maryville, Tenn.

Don Costello, retiring as financial pastor at Bon Air Baptist Church, Buford Road Campus, Richmond, Va.

ORDINATION

Leah Harlow, ordained to ministry on Feb. 4 by Wake Forest Baptist Church, Wake Forest, N.C., were she serves as minister of youth and missions.

DEATHS

Harry S. Girtman., 89, died Feb. 17 in Columbia, S.C. He served as a minister for over 40 years. His pastorates included Belmont Baptist Church, Columbia, S.C.; Hilton Baptist Church, Newport News, Va.; Hampton Heights Baptist Church, Greenville, S.C.; and First Baptist Church, Pendleton, S.C. He is survived by his wife, Pam; three daughters, Sue Ellen Bennett, Elizabeth Ann Grant and Sharon Kay Allred; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Richard “Dick” Moody, 87, died Feb. 27 in Southlake, Texas. His pastorates included First Baptist Church, Willis Point, Texas; First Baptist Church, Tioga, Texas; Main Street Baptist Church, Grand Saline, Texas; and First Baptist Church, Marlow, Okla. He was pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Ennis, Texas, for 25 years and later served for 14 years as pastor to senior adults. He was creator of two oil paintings, “The Gathering of the Father’s Family” and “The Peacemaker.”He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma June. He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Lynn Baker and Deborah Moody Wade; and two grandchildren.
