STAFF CHANGES

Michael Bullard, to Macedonia Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., as music minister.

Felicia Fox, to First Baptist Church, Gastonia, N.C., as associate pastor for youth, children and discipleship.

John Hunt, serving as director of ministry service and instructor of ministry at Logsdon Seminary, Abilene, Texas. He has served as director of Hardin-Simmons Baptist Student Ministries for almost 12 years and has been teaching as an adjunct for Logsdon for three years.

Oza Jones, to Baptist General Convention of Texas, as associate for African-American ministries. He was pastor of Grace Tabernacle of Praise Church, Grand Prairie, Texas, for 6 years.

Julie Long, to Baptist Women in Ministry, Atlanta Ga., as associate director.

Mark Reece Jr., to First Baptist Church, Elkin, N.C., as senior pastor.

Leigh Reynolds, to Oakland Baptist Church, Rock Hill, S.C., as coordinator of youth and communication ministries.

Megan Smith, to Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries at Metro Baptist Church, New York City, as director of youth programming.

Meredith Stone, serving as assistant professor of Scripture and ministry at Logsdon Seminary, Abilene, Texas. For the past four years she was director of ministry guidance.

Wayne Sullivan, to Ephesus Baptist Church, Spring Hope, N.C., as intentional interim pastor.

Carolina Kimrey Talbert, to Immanuel Baptist Church, Nashville, Tenn., as minister of music.

 

RETIREMENTS

Perry Holleman, retiring as minister of education at First Baptist Church, Shelby, N.C.

Gordon Wright, retiring as pastor of Masonboro Baptist Church, Wilmington, N.C., effective Sept. 1. He has served there for the past 34 years.irst Baptist Church, Parsons, Kansas, as pastor.

 

DEATHS

John Bisagno, 84, died Aug. 5 in Nashville, Tenn. He was pastor of First Baptist Church, Houston, Texas for 30 years, and earlier was pastor of First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, Okla. He is preceded in death by his wife, Uldine. He is survived by a daughter, Melodye “Ginger” Dodd; two sons Timothy and Anthony; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Betty Doyen Dilday, 87, died Aug. 9 in Dallas, Texas. She was the wife of Russell Dilday, former president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2017 the R.H. Dilday family was awarded the title Baylor University’s First Family by the Baylor Line Foundation. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert; daughters, Nancy Duck and Ellen Garrett; nine grandchildren; and two-great grandchildren.
