STAFF CHANGES

Tim Boone, to First Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tenn., as interim minister for congregational life.

Tracie Quarles Daniels, to St. Mark Baptist Church, Maidens, Va., as pastor.

Roy N. Ford Jr., concluding service as interim pastor of First Baptist Church, Gretna, Va.

Mary Beth Foust, to First Baptist Church, Greensboro, N.C., as communications director, effective Jan. 14.

Chuck and Jan Hoyt, to First Baptist Church, Tuscola, Texas, as youth ministers.

Wes Hunter, now serving as senior pastor of Masonboro Baptist Church, Wilmington, N.C. He previously was associate pastor.

Andy Jung, to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina, as associate executive coordinator, effective in January. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Albemarle, N.C.

France Marcott, to First Baptist Church, Ottawa, Ill., as pastor.

Linda Northup Moore, to Cross Mills Baptist Church, Charlestown, R.I., as pastor.

Ken Myers, to The Riverside Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla., as pastor.

Andy Springer, to First Baptist Church, Hastings, Neb., as associate pastor.

Jim Stone, to Berea Baptist Church, Louisa, Va., as pastor.

Reed D. Webster, to Cedar Hills Baptist Church, Beaverton (Portland), Oregon, as pastor. He comes from First Baptist Church, Cottage Grove, Oregon.

Lindsay Wiles, to Orange (Va.) Baptist Church, as youth minister.

 

RETIREMENTS

Elmo Familiaran, retiring from American Baptist Churches of New Jersey. He became associate regional pastor and area minister in 2004. Since June of 2017 he has served as interim executive minister.

Jim Hill, retiring as pastor of administration at First Baptist Church, Jefferson City, Mo., after 47 years in ministry.

 

ORDINATIONS

Cheryl Dawson, ordained to ministry on Nov. 10 by Beth Eden Baptist Church, Oakland, Calif.

Paul Schneider, ordained to ministry on Oct. 14 by Shell Ridge Church, Walnut Creek, Calif.

 

 

DEATH

Kurt Kaiser, 83, died Nov. 12 in Waco, Texas. A composer and pianist, he was instrumental in the launch and growth of Word Music, where he was vice president and director of music. He composed more than 300 songs, including “Pass It On” and “Oh How He Loves You and Me.” He was accompanist for George Beverly Shea at Billy Graham Evangelistic Association crusades. He is survived by his wife, Pat; four children; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ANNIVERSARIES

Joey McNeill, 20 years as pastor of Fort Trial Baptist Church, Stanleytown, Va.

Don Vigus, 40 years as minister for missions and college ministry at First Baptist Church, Wilmington, N.C.

Tim Wilson, 30 years as pastor of Perkins Baptist Church, Goochland, Va.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARIES

Georges Road Baptist Church, North Brunswick Township, N.J.; 175 years; Nov. 18.
