Marc Burnett, to First Baptist Church, Covington, Texas, as pastor.

Michael Friday, to Union Baptist Church, Swissville, Pa., as interim senior pastor.

Don Longorio, to First Baptist Church, Sterling City, Texas, as pastor.

Mandy England Cole, resigning as pastor of Ginter Park Baptist Church, Richmond, Va.

Derek Henson, to First Baptist Church, Worcester, Mass., as associate pastor of administration and communication.

Danny Houck, to Calvary Hill Baptist Church, Fairfax, Va., as pastor.

Timothy D. Lipp, to Victoria (Va.) Baptist Church, as pastor. He comes from Smithfield (Va.) Baptist Church, where he served as associate pastor.

Kevin Rosenfeld, to First Baptist Church, Galax, Va., as pastor, effective Nov. 18. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, South Hill, Va.

Travis Russell, to Vinton (Va.) Baptist Church, as senior pastor.

Jeffrey Thomas, to First Baptist Church, Woonsocket, R.I., as pastor.

Christy Tatum Williamson, to Greystone Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., as pastor.

Patrick B. Wood, to Smithfield (Va.) Baptist Church, as pastor, effective Jan. 6. He comes from the pastorate of Southwood Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Ind.

 

RETIREMENT

Phyllis Goodyear, retiring as region minister for American Baptist Churches of Indiana and Kentucky, effective Dec. 31.

 

ORDINATIONS

Jacob Boyd, ordained to ministry on Nov. 11 by First Baptist Church, Springfield, Va.

Nate Dove, ordained to ministry on Nov. 11 by First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Va., where he serves as minister to families with youth.

 

 

DEATHS

Wayne C. Harrison, 65, died Oct. 15 in Newport News, Va. He served in numerous churches in 28 years of ministry, including Memorial Baptist Church, Hampton, Va. His most recent service was pastoral director of Sunset House in Hampton. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughter, Holly Scroggins; and one granddaughter.

Thomas A. “Tommy” Mills, 97, died Nov. 3 in Atlanta, Ga. He served as minister of music at several Atlanta area churches. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Cheryl Wilson and Vicki Timmerman; three children; and five great-grandchildren.

Forrest Lee Parsons, 98, died Nov. 9 in Narragansett, R.I. He was pastor of several churches in Rhode Island, including Warwick Central Baptist Church in Warwick, First Baptist Church of Pawtucket and Church of the Master in Providence. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances. He is survived by children, Leslie Erickson and Philip Parsons; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Edgar Kenton Webb, 84, died Oct. 28 in Independence, Mo. He served as pastor of Center Baptist Church, Ash Grove, Mo.; First Baptist Church, Polo, Mo.; Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church, Louisville, Ky.; First Baptist Church, Kirksville, Mo.; Bethel United Church of Christ, Kansas City, Mo.; and as interim pastor of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, Levasy, Mo. He is predeceased by his wife, Carolyn. He is survived by daughters, Judith Webb and Jane Webb Childress; a son, Jeffrey; and four grandchildren.
