After eight years of planning, praying and fundraising, Bethany Baptist Church in Callao, Va., dedicated its new fellowship hall at homecoming on Nov. 18. The new 5,000 square feet, 230-seat facility provides fellowship space with a new fully-equipped kitchen and pantry. It also provides multiuse fellowship, recreation and education space and is handicapped accessible. A new covered drop-off at its entrance provices access in inclement weather. Eddie Heath, field strategist for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board, was guest speaker at the dedication. Additional comments were provided by Charles Overstreet, building committee chair, and William Henry Harris, the architect for the project.

Glenwood Memorial Baptist Church, Danville, Va., honored Ruth Gillie Strader on Nov. 28 on the occasion of her 100th birthday. She has been a member of Glenwood Memorial for more than 50 years and is its oldest member. Pastor Averette Witcher said Strader is a joy and inspiration and that she gives God the credit for her longevity.

Manuel Rodriguez and his son, Juan Carlos Chacon, are leading a new Hispanic mission at Rivermont Baptist Church in Danville, Va. The first worship service of Mision Bautista Hispana de Rivermont was held on Nov. 18 in the sanctuary of the church and was translated both in English and Spanish.
