The Christian Crusaders are planning another insurrection on January 6.
Despite — or perhaps because of — a Democratic margin of victory so significant on Tuesday that not even Donald Trump could claim foul, some white evangelicals are not willing to accept defeat.
On Wednesday’s episode of the Daystar Television Network show FlashPoint, host Gene Bailey opened the show by bringing up the story of David and his warriors arriving at Ziklag in 1 Samuel 30 to discover that the Amalekites already had raided the city and took the women and children captive. Bailey noted how the soldiers were tempted to blame their leader David for the loss.
Then Bailey identified Republican voters today with the followers of David in the Bible. “For many of us, that’s what we’re dealing with today,” he said. “We didn’t know this was going to be such a wildly shocking result. But notice what David did next. He sought God’s direction. So that’s my encouragement to you today. We’ve got to seek God’s direction and then we’ve got to act.”
Bailey went on to say David and his followers decided to obey God by destroying and plundering the Amalekites in order to take back everything that was stolen from them. And with that, he welcomed his panel.
A panel of insurrection apologists
Bailey’s panel included Lance Wallnau, the New Apostolic Reformation preacher who fueled the anger leading up to the January 6 insurrection, was scheduled to speak that day before his speech had to be canceled due to the attack on the U.S. Capitol, and who led The Courage Tour revival services that utilized worship, preaching and altar calls to get out the vote for Trump and the Republicans in swing states leading up to the 2024 election.
It also included Rick Green, the founder of Patriot Academy who interviewed insurrectionist Jake Lang when Lang was in prison under eight charges related to the insurrection, including three charges from allegedly hitting police officers with a metal bat. According to Green, Lang was a “political prisoner.”
But perhaps the most concerning member of Bailey’s panel was Lorenzo Sewell, pastor of 180 Church in Detroit. Sewell has grown in popularity among Republicans due to praying at President Trump’s inauguration, speaking at Sean Feucht worship warfare events as well as at the Trump administration’s “Rededicate 250” events on the National Mall this summer, where the federal government erected a temple on public land and dedicated the country to Jesus.
Since then, Sewell has teamed up with Lang as a pair of self-proclaimed “Christian Crusaders” who are waging a new war on Muslims and on Black people who won’t support Trump.

Lang and Sewell’s Crusade
Their Christian Crusade began in Dearborn, Mich., on August 18 as Lang held up a “Make Crusades Great Again” sign and yelled, “We will take our country back!” Worship leader Sean Feucht noted at the time that his friends were “meeting at City Hall and they’re doing a pig roast and they’re burning the Quran.”
In one video, Lang claimed, “White people in America, you will be replaced, and your children will be Black Muslims if you don’t stand up now.” In another, he said immigrants are “anchor babies sent in as chemical weapons by the Talmudic Jews.”

Lang and Sewell created such a stir at the Dearborn City Council meeting that riot police had to be called in. When they reached the council meeting, Sewell yelled: “We are not a nation of Muslims! We are a nation of Christians! We are one nation, under God, indivisible, the God of the Bible! The God of the Lord Jesus Christ! That’s the God in whom we serve!” He added, “America! We have lost this city! This is a city that is no longer up under American laws. We are up under Sharia law.”
Then Lang took the mic and warned, “The Crusade has begun!”
“It’s over! Muslims go home! Before we send you home!” Lang declared. “We have cruise ships. We have planes. We have trains. And we’re gonna pack them out with all the Arabs. You have to go home. We don’t want you here!”
He concluded, “We will not allow these third world mongrels to run roughshod over us without a fight. … Join the Crusades and extricate this filth from our country. We will have our way! Come blood or sweat. We will have our way! This is a Christian land! Christ is King! Christ is King!”
Then he tore pages from a Quran as police escorted him out.
The next week, he was arrested in Minneapolis after two of his vehicles “unexpectedly and abruptly” broke through police barriers as Lang stood in the back of the truck with a large white cross and a sign that read, “Jake Lang loves Black people, but hates (n word).”

Lang, seen wearing a tactical vest with an ‘INFIDEL’ patch, was confronted by several hundred counter-protesters, including anti-ICE activists, who reacted strongly to his presence and his stated intent to burn a copy of the Holy Quran. ‘We need another January 6’
So with Bailey inspiring his FlashPoint viewers with the story of David taking back what was stolen by the Amalekites and encouraging Trump voters to follow David’s example, Sewell said: “How is it that they take every single important seat? They literally did the midtown massacre. … And I have a spiritual suspicion, I got a Holy Ghost hunch that we need another January 6. I’m telling you I’m gearing up for it. I’m ready to go to the Capitol. … I’ve already talked to a few of my friends and we’re ready to go. … We have to pursue, overtake, and we need to reclaim all that the devil has come to steal, kill and destroy.”
Later during the FlashPoint episode, Sewell asked, “How do the absentee ballot envelopes travel from one place to the next?” Then he added, “We need to see that there are numbers, specifically in cities that are majority Black that have a high transient group of people and that also have immigrants. These are the cities where they are cheating.”
Bailey responded, “I just have a hard time believing that many people would openly decide to hand over their city to Abdul Sayed.”
Nobody on the panel challenged Sewell’s call for another January 6 insurrection.
So if Sewell’s friends are planning another insurrection, who might these friends be?
On Nov. 3, after it became clear the Democrats won the election, Lang posted on X along with a picture of January 6 insurrectionists: “ATTENTION: EVERY ABLE BODIED AMERICAN PATRIOT. I WILL SEE YOU AT THE US CAPITOL ON JANUARY 6. Round 2. We are taking this COUNTRY BACK!!!!!!!!!”
