CrossRoads Camp & Conference Center is looking for college students and high school seniors to fill summer staff positions.
Counselors, leadership team, support staff and lifeguards are needed for the camp, owned and operated by Woman's Missionary Union of Virginia. Extensive training in both leadership and specific skills is provided.
“Working at camp provides the kind of training and missions experience that students use the rest of their lives,” said Cheri Wise, associate for leadership development for WMUV. “Those who work at camp don't see it as a summer job, but rather as a ministry. They place their summer in God's hands, asking him to use them in powerful ways. And use them he does! Lives are changed as the campers are influenced by these Christian role models, each with an active, growing faith.”
Michelle Kennedy, who has worked at CrossRoads for three years, especially enjoys “the kids.”
“They are amazing blessings and if they are not shown the wonder and glory of God, then our future will be pretty dark,” she says. Michelle attended camp at CrossRoads for five years before starting to work there.
“I continue to come back to CrossRoads because it is the only place I have ever been where upon entering the gates you can feel the presence of God all around you,” she says.
“Trisha Wise, another three-year veteran, agrees. “Camp is a wonderful missions opportunity where you can work with other mature and on-fire Christians. It's a place where you can join God in what he's doing.”
Interested students may contact CrossRoads at (434) 277-8465 or [email protected] for an application. Staff interviews will be held at CrossRoads March 12.
