O R D I N A T I O N

Beverly Beach was ordained to the gospel ministry by Salem Church, Fredericksburg, on Jan. 16. She serves as the chaplain at the Fredericksburg Regional Jail.

C H U R C H • N E W S

Fieldale Church, Fieldale, will hold a youth revival March 19-20 led by a team of students from Bluefield College.

Harmony Grove Church, Topping, will be presenting an Easter Celebration on March 24 at 7 p.m. Members will be depicting scenes from the life of Christ from Palm Sunday through his death on the cross.

Sandy Ridge Church, Rocky Mount, will hold revival services March 13-16 with Roger Roller as guest evangelist.

D E A T H S

Iris Routon Saunders, hostess at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center, died Feb. 18 in Lynchburg at the age of 67. She was a member of Big Island Church, Big Island. A funeral service was held Feb. 21 from the church with burial in the Big Island Church cemetery.

Jo Ann Blackwell Switzer, wife of retired Virginia Baptist pastor Willis H. Switzer, died Feb. 14 in Franklin at the age of 74. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Marguerite S. Leathers; a son, W. Terrell Switzer; two sisters; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a niece and three nephews. A funeral service was held Feb. 17 at Black Creek Church in Franklin with interment in the church cemetery.
