The Program Committee has the responsibility of emphasizing worship at the annual meeting of the Baptist General Association of Virginia while planning for and coordinating the order of business.

Our purpose and theme for this year is to promote emerging leaders throughout the Commonwealth. The program committee, along with Susan McBride and the emerging leaders team, hopes this will be a beautiful “Voyage to Discovery.”

We would further encourage each of you to participate in the breakout sessions planned for this year. There will be three sailings on Thursday afternoon with a wide offering of topics.

The location for next year's annual meeting, as approved by the messengers to the 2004 Baptist General Association of Virginia annual meeting, is the Greater Richmond Convention Center, Richmond, Virginia, November 13-14, 2007.

Each year the program committee seeks to build upon the successes of prior meetings by the comments given by messengers in attendance. These annual evaluations will remain a central part of the program committee's work.

The Program Committee makes the following recommendations:

1. That the program, as printed, be adopted as the agenda of the Connect 2006 meeting of the Baptist General Association of Virginia.

2. That times on the program are indicated merely for guidance.

3. That to expedite all discussion periods, giving as many as possible an opportunity to speak, debate on all matters will be limited to three (3) minutes per speaker and that speakers, pro and con, be alternated.

4. That future sites for the annual meeting be adopted as:
2008: November 11-12 (Tuesday-Wednesday) Roanoke Area
2009: November 10-11 (Tuesday-Wednesday) Fredericksburg/Northern Virginia Area
