VIRGINIA BAPTIST FORUM: Advertise for the Lord

NewsReligious Herald  |  February 11, 2009

I am writing from a small town in southwestern Virginia. When our church heard of the buses in Washington we were sickened. But we did not just sit by in astonishment. We sent out letters to churches in our county telling of the situation. We asked everyone to start advertising for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

 Forum

We had nine churches buy 30-second radio spots on a local station. It was before Christmas and every church ended their spot with, “Remember, Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.”

We have also challenged churches and individuals to purchase billboards with Jesus Christ as the focus. Our church is in the process of that now. We as Christians need to be the people that are being talked about, not the non-believers.
