Auxiliary meetings scheduled around annual BGAV gathering

RICHMOND — A variety of events will be held in conjunction with Connect:2007, the annual meeting of the Baptist General Association to be held Nov. 13-14 in Richmond.

Among them:

Virginia Baptist Pastors Conference, Monday, Nov. 12, 2:30 p.m.-9:15 p.m. The annual event will be held at Monument Heights Baptist Church, 5617 Monument Ave., in Richmond. Speakers include Thomas Armstrong, pastor of Cedar Baptist Church in Dillwyn; Marshal Ausberry, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Fairfax; Joel Jenkins, pastor of First Baptist Church in Charlottesville; Anthony Ponder, pastor of Come As You Are Church in Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Herbert Ponder, pastor of Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Richmond. Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia/Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond luncheon, Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 12 noon – 1:45 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Speaker will be Dan Bagby, professor of pastoral care at the seminary.

Virginia Baptist Women in Ministry dinner, Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 5:30 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1925 Grove Ave., Richmond. Tickets are $15 for VBWIM members, $18 for non-VBWIM members. For additional information, contact Barbara Sadtler at [email protected].

John Leland Center luncheon, Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at The Tobacco Company in Richmond. Speaker will be new president Mark Olson. Tickets are $20 per person. Additional information is available by emailing [email protected].

Virginia alumni chapter of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary breakfast, Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 a.m. at Ironbridge Baptist Church in Chester. Speaker will be Jerry Pounds, special assistant to the president at the seminary. Tickets are $8 per person.
