Baptist Ministry Assistants of Virginia (BMAV) will gather in Virginia Beach April 1-4 for professional certification and skillshops at the Quality Inn & Suites — Oceanfront.
The theme for this conference is “Teaching by the Seaside” and is taken from Mark 4:1.
Personal Enrichment Program of LifeWay Church Resources offers a certification program for ministry secretaries and assistants. Professional Certification for Ministry Assistants is a 20-hour seminar focusing on six ministry issues: God's Call, Your Character, Leadership, Communication, Administration and Ministry. At the conclusion, you will be able to demonstrate your proficiency in ministry and office skills by taking the certification examination and earning the distinction of “Certified Ministry Assistant.”
For those who have gained certification, earn further professional recognition by participating in ministry office advanced skillshops: Time Management and Ministering in Times of Crisis. One continuing education unit (CEU) is earned for each advanced skillshop.
Conference costs are $175 for members (dues paid for 2008) and $210 for non-members.
An early registration discount of $10 is credited when the application is postmarked on or before Thursday, Feb. 14. Please forward this to Marty Garber, BMAV Conference Coordinator, P.O. Box 8377, Richmond, VA 23226-0377.
