Seven semi-finalists have been selected in the search for a new president at Bluefield College, after an intense review of dozens of applications received for the position since September of 2006.
That number will soon dwindle to a projected three leading candidates after members of the Bluefield College presidential search committee interview the seven semi-finalists at off-campus locations in March.
“We hope to get the number to around three,” said BC campus minister David Taylor, a staff representative on the presidential search committee.
“At that point, we'll invite the entire campus community to meet with the finalists.”
Once the presidential search committee completes its semi-finalist interviews in March and shortens the list of seven, the estimated three finalists will be invited to visit the Bluefield College campus for additional interviews, open forums, and meetings with BC faculty, staff and students.
“Everyone on campus will have an opportunity to interact with the finalists,” Taylor said.
Bluefield began its search for a new president in September 2006 shortly after the departure of Dan MacMillan, who, after serving BC for nine years, took a position with Dallas Baptist University.
