You never know if all the work, all the calls, all the money, all the preparation and all the time are really worth it. Then something will happen to let you know that the Catalyst get-away is more than worth it. This year that something happened on Thursday around a table full of Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. A staff member of one of our churches came up to me with tears flowing and said something like this: “Eddie, thank you so much for inviting me to Catalyst. I had no intention of going. I was just too busy. But you told me you had a ticket, you had a room and if I could just get to Atlanta, you knew I would be blessed. You have no idea how much I needed to be here. I had no idea that my spiritual life was so barren. Thank you and Virginia Baptists for finding fresh ways to renew us.”
With that, the staff member picked up the sandwich and blended into the crowd. In that moment, I knew if I had to do it all over again, I would do it all over again.
