The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship will announce its new coordinator for global missions next week, filling a position vacant since June 2012, when Rob Nash became a mission professor at Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology.
Since then, Jim Smith has served as interim global missions coordinator.
At a press conference April 30 in their Decatur, Ga., headquarters, CBF leaders will announce the successor to Nash, who served 2006-2012. The new staff member will “network, empower and mobilize Baptist Christians and churches for effective global missions,” according to a job description.
A 12-member search committee chaired by Linda Jones, CBF of North Carolina missions coordinator, helped select the new mission leader.
