Cecil Sherman, to Chamberlayne Church, Richmond, as interim pastor.

Gary Poff, to Angels Rest Fellowship, Pearisburg, as interim pastor.

Nelson Taylor, to Central Church, Richmond, as minister of music, effective Sept. 4.

Phil Howard, to Richland Church, Hartwood, as associate pastor.

Michael O'Rourke, to Leigh Street Church, Richmond, as associate pastor for youth and missions.

Thomas Rawls, to Mechanicsville Church, Mechanicsville, as minister of youth.

Bob Yeaman, to Hillcrest Church, Danville, as assistant pastor.

Clarence Hilling, to Beulah Church, Schley, as interim pastor.

Tiffany Kellogg, to Central Church, Richmond, as minister to youth and families.

Larry “Jon” Parker, resigning as minister of youth and children at Hillcrest Church, Ridgeway, to accept a similar position in North Carolina.

Peggy Jenkins, to Muddy Creek Church, Powhatan, as youth minister.

Beth Brawley, to Powhatan Community Church, Powhatan, as full-time minister of creative worship, effective Sept. 1.

Church News

Bethany Church, Woodford, will celebrate its 235th anniversary Sept. 11. Dinner will be served following the 11 a.m. service. A time capsule will be buried near the sanctuary to be opened on the 275th anniversary. Revival services are scheduled Sept. 12-15 with Joe Anderson, Amos Healy, Nathaniel Young and Wilson Corr Jr. as guest evangelists.

Bonsack Church, Roanoke, will celebrate its 125th anniversary on Sept. 11 at 3:00 and 6:30 p.m. when its adult choir and orchestra will present the musical, “Legacy of Faith.”

Craigs Church, Spotsylvania, will celebrate its 238th anniversary on Sept. 11. The congregation will have an old-fashioned tent meeting at 9:30 a.m. with dinner on the grounds to follow. Revival services will be held Sept. 12-15 with Gary Linton as speaker for the anniversary and revival.

Hull's Memorial Church, Fredericksburg, will celebrate homecoming on Sept. 11. Rick Clore will be guest speaker. A covered-dish lunch will follow the service.

Linden Heights Church, Staunton, will hold its Singles Jubilee on Sept. 16-18. Conference leaders will be Randy and Debbie Daniels. The jubilee will include a concert by “Spirit Led Gospel Group.” Pastor David Anderson will serve as emcee. For additional information contact the church at 540-886-1138.

Mount Vernon Church, Emporia, will hold revival services Aug. 28-Sept. 1 with Roger Roller as guest evangelist.

North Bedford Church, Forest, will celebrate its 125th anniversary Sept. 11. A pageant will be presented by church members dressed in period costume and will be followed by dinner on the grounds.

Willroy Church, Suffolk, will celebrate its 45th anniversary on Sept. 11. Former pastors and charter members will take part in the 11 a.m. service. A 2 p.m. service will feature the Southern gospel music of The Galileans and Fourgiven.
