Ordinations
Jonathan Adam Tyler, a student at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, was ordained to the gospel ministry by Blacksburg Church, Blacksburg, on June 5.
Joan Williams was ordained to the gospel ministry by Tabernacle Church, Salem, on June 18.
Church News
Jerusalem Church, Warsaw, will hold homecoming June 26. Guest speaker at the 11:00 a.m. service will be Jay Smith of Virginia Beach. The service will be followed by lunch and a musical will begin at 1:30 p.m. featuring Kori Kiss, Michael Milstead, Eleanor Dawson, the 11-21 Club and the Jerusalem Church choir.
Death
Katherine McLaughlin Kitchen died on June 13 in Richmond. She had served as associate director of the Hillside Baptist Center in Richmond from 1955 until 1982. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert C. Kitchen. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy M. Griggs; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held June 16 at Bon Air Church, Richmond, with interment in Sunset Memorial Park.
