Filipino-American church launched

On Oct. 13 the Fil-Am Community Church began worship services in the chapel at Winfree Memorial Church, Midlothian. After 6 months of Bible study on Friday nights, the decision was made to begin Sunday worship. The pastor of the new congregation is Charlie Chilton, former missionary to the Philippines and church planter/ pastor for several other Filipino congregations. The new church is sponsored by three Filipino-American churches in Northern Virginia: Fil-Am Christian Church in Fredericksburg, Grace Fili-pino Church in Dale City and Fil-Am Community Baptist Church in Springfield. Worship services are held in both the Tagalog and English languages and begin at 11:00 a.m. For more information about the church, contact Pastor Chilton at cacfwc@ aol.com.
