Roger Collier has announced plans to retire as pastor of Glen Allen Church, Glen Allen, effective April 5, 2005.
D E A T H
John A. Parker, an emeritus Southern Baptist missionary to Chile, died Nov. 7 at the age of 90. Parker was appointed by the IMB in 1942. Soon after he met and married another missionary, the former Ruby Haden. After her death in 1997, he married Edith Vaughn, a retired missionary to Brazil. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David and Kenneth Parker; and three grandchildren.

The singles ministry at Bon Air Church, Richmond, will host Pheer Knot at its Agapé Café on Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. For additional information call the church at 804-272-1475.
Central Church, Lowesville,has named its former pastor, A. Eugene Beverly,as pastor emeritus. He and his wife, Jeannie, were honored at homecoming. He was presented a framed resolution acknowledging his 30 years of ministry to the church and a plaque which will be displayed in the church library.
First Church, Pulaski, has begun a renovation project which will include a large youth room with recreational equipment and a new baptistry.
Zoar Church, Locust Grove, began the celebration of its bicentennial with a luncheon on Nov. 21 at which members dressed in 1880s attire. Various events have been planned through its homecoming in 2005.
