Death

Former Virginia Baptist pastor Herb Holton died on Aug. 3. He retired as pastor of Riverside Church, Norfolk, and at the time of his death was pastor of Norview Church, Norfolk. A funeral service was held Aug. 6 at Norview Church.

Ordination

Abby Thornton was ordained to the gospel ministry by Winfree Memorial Church, Midlothian, on Aug. 28.
