Cindy Elmore joins staff of Foundation as director of donor relations

NewsJim White  |  November 18, 2011

RICHMOND, Va. — Cindy R. Elmore has joined the staff of the Virginia Baptist Foundation as director of donor relations. Elmore, a former development director for non-profits in Virginia, assumed her role in early October.

As the Foundation’s director of donor relations, she will increase awareness of the ministries and services of the Foundation through personal contact, print and electronic media. She also will work to strengthen relations among donors, Baptist General Association of Virginia churches and BGAV ministry partners.

Elmore “brings a wealth of experience as well as passion for Christian ministry to her new position,” said Foundation president Ron Hall. She has been director of development for both the Arthritis Foundation’s Virginia affiliate and for the John Randolph Foundation, a Hopewell, Va.-based community organization which provides grants and scholarships. She also has been a publications specialist for the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, Va.

“Cindy Elmore possesses great interpersonal, marketing and fund-raising skills which will serve her well and advance this ministry,” said Hall. “Her greatest attribute, however, is her passion for the cause of Christ. I look forward to her meeting and serving our Virginia Baptist family.”

A native of Hartselle, Ala., Elmore holds a masters of public administration in non-profit from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tenn. She also is a certified fund raising executive.

Elmore’s husband, Joe, is pastor of Crowder Memorial Baptist Church in Petersburg, Va., and a member of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board. They have three children.
