RICHMOND — High school students are invited to enter the third annual Roots & Wings Young Scholars Essay Contest sponsored by the Center for Baptist Heritage & Studies. The contest is open to all 11th and 12th grade high school students engaged in public, private or home school education who attend a Baptist church in Virginia. The contest offers cash awards of $500 for first place, $300 for second and $200 for third. The winning essays may be published by the Center.
The theme for 2008 is on Christian stewardship. The exact wording of the essay question, the length of the essay and further information can be obtained either from www. essay.baptistheritage.org or by contacting the Center at 804-289-8434. The deadline is April 15.
