‘NEW’ CONGREGATION: Following several years of working together in combined ministries, the congregations of East Hampton Church and New Hope Community Fellowship, both in Hampton, agreed to form a new congregation under a new name, which has yet to be decided. The new congregation will utilize the facilities of East Hampton Church and met for its first celebration of praise on Sunday, Oct. 17. ORDINATIONS
• Jimmy Dooley was ordained to the gospel ministry by Flint Hill Church, Moneta, on Sept. 12.
• Earnie Taylor, pastor of Mount Vernon Church, Axton, will be ordained to the gospel ministry by the church on Nov. 21.

• Derbyshire Church, Richmond, will host the Golden Tones Senior Adult Choir in a worship concert, “Join in the Song,” Sun., Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. Now in its 12th year, this 36-member choir is an integral facet of the senior adult ministry at Derbyshire. • Edge Church, Gladys, will hold revival services Nov. 7-10 with evangelist Roger Roller.
• First Church, Newport News, will host The Hoppers in concert on Sat., Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
• New Hope Church, Skipwith, will celebrate homecoming Nov. 21. Former interim pastor Paul Fletcher will be guest speaker.
• North Run Church, Richmond, will host the Dixie Melody Boys in concert on Friday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. No ticket required.
• Starling Avenue Church, Martinsville, will celebrate its 75th anniversary with homecoming on Nov. 7. Kristin Adkins Whitesides, associate pastor of First Church, Winchester, will be guest speaker at the 10:30 service.
• West Lynchburg Church, Lynchburg, will celebrate its 105th anniversary on Nov. 7. Tom Stocks will be guest speaker at the morning service which will be followed by a luncheon. Revival services will continue Nov. 8-10 with John Thompson, Charles Dunning and Glenn Coleman as guest evangelists.
