DEATHS
• Hazeltine Wright Crady, widow of former Virginia Baptist pastor Wilson Crady, died in Lowesville on May 23 at the age of 88. She served as music director at Piney River Church, Lowesville, for 45 years. She is survived by a son, Kirk Crady; two daughters, Karen Foley and Kaye Crady; and a grandson.
• Joella Ferguson Means died in Appomattox on June 23 at the age of 69. She was the widow of Frank K. Means who retired as director of Latin American ministries for the Foreign [now International] Mission Board. She was a charter member of Grace Hills Church, Appomattox. She is survived by nine cousins. A funeral service was held June 26 at Grace Hills Church.

CHURCH NEWS
• Derbyshire Church, Richmond, will hold its 14th annual “Good Ol’ Gospel Sing” on Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. Featured in this concert will be selections by various trios, quartets, the Chancel Choir and Southern gospel group, Dominion. The evening concludes with an old-fashioned watermelon cutting on the front lawn.
• Providence Church, Red House, will sponsor a Community Summer Fest July 31 from 12-3 p.m. Food, games and music provided.

• The Resource Center in Richmond is accepting nominations for the Christian Educators Appreciation Banquet on Nov. 12 at the Trinity Family Life Center in Richmond.
