MISSIONS
• Andrew and Christina Berry were recently appointed by the International Mission Board as missionaries who will serve among the peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa. The Berrys are members of Spring Hill Church in Ruckersville.
CHURCH NEWS
• Main Street Church, Luray, will host the Children of the World Choir on Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. This is an international choir of orphaned and disadvantaged children ages 7-11 years old from Uganda, Nepal and the Philippines.
• Oakland Church, Disputanta, held the first service in its new worship center on Dec. 12. A dedication for the new building will be Jan. 23 at 3 p.m.
OTHER
• The Richmond Hill Retreat Center will host the “Spiritual Formation of Jesus” event for ministers and lay leaders January 17-19. It explores how Jesus has called us to be formed and what events, traditions, circumstances, Scriptures and relationships led Jesus to an awareness of God’s call on his life. Rick Bennett, director of congregational formation at the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, will lead the conference. Cost is $75 and includes meals, lodging, snacks and program.
