RICHMOND, Va. — Nominees to serve on the governing boards of 20 organizations which partner with the Baptist General Association of Virginia are being sought by the BGAV’s committee on boards and committees.
In addition, the nominating committee is seeking suggestions for membership on the BGAV’s seven standing committees, which oversee various aspects of the state association’s work.
“Virginia Baptists are a rich and diverse body of believers,” said Emily Carlton of Alexandria, Va., who chairs the nominating committee. “Since 1823, we have empowered our leadership to make a difference in the Redeemer’s Kingdom. We need your help to continue.”
Carlton, a member of Downtown Baptist Church in Alexandria, said her committee needs input to “help us identify gifted individuals to serve in the coming year by sharing the names of those Virginia Baptists — both layperson and minister — whom you believe have the qualifications and commitment to advance the Redeemer’s Kingdom. … It’s a great day to be a Virginia Baptist. We look forward to hearing from you.”
Carlton said a nominating form is posted on the Virginia Baptist Mission Board’s website here.
