Henry to speak at evangelism conference

Jim Henry, former pastor of First Baptist in Orlando, Fla., and former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, will be the keynote speaker at the Southwest Evangelism Conference on Feb. 19 at First Baptist Church in Galax.

The conference will begin with breakout sessions at 3 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., Henry will offer a session for all to attend, “Partners in Ministry.”

After a 5:30 p.m. dinner, John Upton, executive director of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board, and . Henry speak during a praise and worship service. Others on the program are Gene Strickland, pastor of First Baptist, Galax; Chris Musick, pastor of Swords Creek Baptist Church; and James Cowley, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Steven Farrar will lead a community choir.
