A trailer full of clothes and blankets for the homeless has been stolen from a Southern Baptist church in Louisville, Ky.
The trailer, used for the Helping Hands Ministry of Valley View Church in southern Jefferson County, went missing last week from a food pantry house next door to the church. According to local media, the trailer and its contents are worth thousands of dollars.
Matt Morris, young adults and metro missions minister, told WDRB-TV in Louisville that church members don’t know the circumstances of whoever stole the items but have already forgiven them, but he’s asking them to return the trailer and items that could be helping hundreds of people living on the streets.
Each Monday the Helping Hands clothing and hygiene team distributes items like clothing, blankets and shoes to people in Louisville and Indiana without traditional living arrangements. The ministry plans to continue passing out food to the homeless each week in hopes the trailer will be returned.
