Rep. Marc Veasey wrote an article for the Dallas Morning News Jan. 27. He exposed James Rodden, who serves as a chief counsel for ICE in Dallas. The Texas Standard traced an email back to him in which he described himself as a neo-Nazi.
He declared, without shame, “America is a white nation. … Our country should favor us.” He wrote,” All Blacks are foreign to my people” and “migrants are all criminals.” The author fantasized the country might one day be “feeding immigrants into tree shredders.” He also announced he is a fascist.
In his federal role, Rodden is entrusted with decisions that determine whether families are torn apart, whether asylum seekers are returned to danger and whether people who have been here for decades are allowed to stay in the country they call home. He lives in Dallas and represents the U.S. government in prosecuting cases against immigrants.
Do you suppose he is biased? He is a Trump appointee, and his salary is paid for by you and me.
Rep. Veasey tried to execute his oversight responsibility by demanding an investigation of ICE. The Department of Homeland Security and ICE stonewalled his requests. They have gone silent and refuse the request from a sitting U.S. representative.
Sounds a lot like the Justice Department breaking the law by ignoring the U.S. Congress and refusing to hand over the Epstein Files.
I am fed up. By remaining silent, I am endorsing the way our federal government is trying to rewrite our history, appointing white nationalists, creating chaos at home and abroad, and inventing crises after crises to take our attention away from the Epstein issue.
I can no longer remain on the sidelines. I have grandchildren who deserve democracy. I am sending this letter to every elected official I can contact. What are you going to do?
Bill Bruster, Dallas
