LETTER: Those who embrace ‘wrong’ theology don’t support violence

NewsJim White  |  October 18, 2013

Concerning the article about the conference in Washington to raise awareness of the plight of Palestinian Christians, I am one of those who embraces the “wrong” theology, that Israel belongs to the Jews. In Genesis 17:8, God said to Abraham, “The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you, and I will be their God” (NIV).

Everlasting means everlasting. However, neither I nor anyone I know who embraces this “wrong” theology condones or supports violence or any other ill treatment of anyone, including the Palestinians. It was wrong of the author to lump us together with those who do.

Mark Davis, Monterey, Va.
