Trump influencer Laura Loomer has been ordered by a federal court to complete payment of a 2022 judgment against her to the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
The payments were mandated by a settlement reached after her 2022 lawsuit falsely alleging CAIR forced Twitter to ban her from the social media platform.
In 2022, the U.S. Court of Appeals affirmed a $125,000 judgment on behalf of CAIR and its Florida chapter against Loomer and Illoominate Media for attorney fees and costs related to their failed lawsuit against CAIR. In 2019, a federal district court dismissed both CAIR and CAIR-Florida from Loomer’s “nonsensical” lawsuit.
Judge Rodolfo A. Ruiz II said Loomer owed $123,761 to CAIR and its Florida chapter, plus $661 in costs. In 2023, CAIR agreed to let Loomer pay a total of $73,500 to CAIR in monthly installments, among other terms.
Loomer has continued to appeal, and the latest ruling from the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said enough is enough. Loomer’s latest appeal cited an executive order signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis calling CAIR a terrorist organization. The governor’s claims have not been proved in court, and even if they were that would not vacate the previous court judgment against Loomer, United States Magistrate Judge Bruce E. Reinhart ruled.
“We look forward to receiving Ms. Loomer’s final payments and using the funds to once again protect American Muslims and our neighbors from hate.”
“We welcome this judicial ruling ordering Laura Loomer to complete her monthly payments to CAIR Legal Defense Fund and fully satisfy the attorney’s fees she owes us as a result of her failed lawsuit,” said CAIR Litigation Director Lena Masri. “Since Ms. Loomer began sending her payments to CAIR in 2023, our attorneys have used her funds to provide legal representation to the American Muslim community and advance free speech, religious freedom and civil rights for everyone in our nation.
“We look forward to receiving Ms. Loomer’s final payments and using the funds to once again protect American Muslims and our neighbors from hate.”
Loomer is a known conspiracy theorist who has the ear of President Donald Trump.
DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued similar executive orders against CAIR last year, and both those orders are being challenged by CAIR in court.
Loomer has described herself as a “proud Islamophobe.” She has campaigned for Muslims to be barred from holding public office in the United States, and she has questioned politicians on why they allow Muslims to serve in Congress.
She has called for the mass deportation of Muslim immigrants, specifically suggesting the “denaturalization” of Muslims who immigrated to the U.S. after 2008.
Loomer frequently warns against the “Islamification of America” and has claimed Islam is “not a religion” but rather a “legal code and a political system” that is incompatible with Western society.
In 2025, she referred to children from Gaza seeking medical care as “Islamic invaders” and pressed for the cancellation of their visas.
