 Woodbridge

MISSIONS MOMENT

On July 18 First Baptist Church of Woodbridge commissioned a team of 10 men to travel over 48 hours to a remote area in Zambia, Africa, called the Mukamba Village. The team ministered among the Tonga people to show God's love, to share the Word of God and to continue the building of an orphanage started by a First Baptist team in August 2006. The church supports an independent missionary couple, Jako and Amber Joubert, who are full-time missionaries to the Tonga people, one of the three least-reached people groups in the world. Their focus is the building of the “Mission of Love Community Orphanage” in the Mukamba village that was licensed this year. The pastor to the village is Petros Muzyula. A team from First Baptist will return in July 2008. Pictured above are Jako and Amber Joubert with some of the people of Zambia.

Eight volunteers gave out goodie bags containing a gospel activity booklet, flashlight and candy bar to approximately 650 children. This is the fourth year the church has done this and the number of children has increased each year.
