MISSIONS MOMENT
Howertons Baptist Church, Dunnsville
The Woman's Missionary Union at Howertons Baptist Church issued a challenge to church members in reaching its goal for the Annie Armstrong Offering. For each $25 collected, a single flower would be attached to straw hats which would be worn by the men. At the end of March, over $1,600 had been given to North American missions. On Palm Sunday, the pastor and active and honorary deacons entered the sanctuary wearing their flowered Easter bonnets. Pictured above in their bonnets are (left to right): first row, Howard Hill, David Smith, Mike Walter; second row, Franklin Bizendine, George McGhee, Arnold Bareford, James Wright; third row, Wade Wilkins, Chuck Laufer, Steve Winder, Jimmy Kickler and Mickey Davis.
