RICHMOND, Va. — A 21-passenger van donated this month to the Virginia Baptist Mission Board will be used to shuttle retreat attenders up the steep hill at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center near Lynchburg, Va.
Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Richmond donated the van, valued at about $30,000. Pastor Terry Green and Joe Fleming, a deacon and trustee of the church, presented the keys to the van to VBMB officials on May 5.
Rod Miller, director of Eagle Eyrie, said shuttle service will make it easier for many elderly and disabled persons to participate in retreats.
“In fact, the new shuttle was the reason we recently booked a retreat,” he said. “The organizers said the shuttle made the difference in deciding to hold their event at Eagle Eyrie.”
