RICHMOND—Peace-bearing is the theme of the Roots & Wings: Young Scholars Essay Contest for 2010, which is sponsored by the Center for Baptist Heritage & Studies.
The contest is open to Virginia Baptists who are high school students in the 11th and 12th grades and encourages youth to consider historical and contemporary examples of peacemaking.
The winners will receive cash awards. Contest rules, criteria and an explanation of the essay question can be found at www.baptistheritage.org. The deadline for entries is April 15.
