Pete Parks, Virginia Baptists' campus-based minister for the Tidewater region, will resign July 31 to assume a chaplain residency position at Norfolk Sentara Hospital.
He is endorsed as a chaplain by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
Parks has held his position since 2003 and for 20
years prior to that was Baptist campus minister at the College of William and Mary. Earlier he was a campus minister at the University of Alabama.
Parks holds degrees from the University of Georgia, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Marie, will continue to live in Williamsburg.
